When I decided to finally launch my skincare brand LA-VIDA-ROSA, I only had just enough money to buy the products I wanted to sell.
Like many first-time entrepreneurs, I thought starting a business was as simple as “Buy products, then sell them.”
But the deeper I went into it, the more I realized — that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
To truly build a brand, I needed so much more than just inventory.
I needed:
- Labels and packaging that would make my products look professional
- Branding and visuals that would make my business stand out
- A website to create trust and make ordering seamless
- Tools to manage my time, content, and marketing

At that time, I was just curious. I didn’t even know I’d launch a business one day. I studied branding, Canva design, copywriting, website building, and marketing strategies. I watched tutorials, took free courses, practiced daily, and soaked up as much as I could — with no pressure, no timeline, no business in mind.
I didn’t realize it then, but that investment in learning would later become the very foundation of LA-VIDA-ROSA.
Because when I finally had the courage to start, I didn’t need to hire a graphic designer (₱2,000–₱5,000+ per label or logo), or a branding agency (₱10,000–₱20,000+), or a web designer (₱15,000–₱50,000+).
I already knew how to do it myself — and that saved me more than just money.
It saved my dream.
The Truth About Small Capital
Yes, I started LA-VIDA-ROSA with small capital — but I didn’t build it with just money.
I built it with the skills I learned, the consistency I practiced, and the vision I held on to.
